A bit about me

Henry Moss, DO, FASAM is dual board certified in Emergency Medicine and Addiction Medicine. He currently works at Henry Ford Hospital, a level-1 trauma center in Detroit, as a senior staff physician and a dedicated member of the core clinical faculty for the Emergency Medicine Residency. Prior to his employment at Henry Ford Hospital, Dr. Moss trained in a variety of emergency departments, ranging from urban level-1 trauma centers to smaller community settings without significant specialty backup.

His training and education include: 

  • Stanford Health Care – Addiction Medicine Fellowship (2023)
  • Detroit Receiving Hospital – Emergency Medicine Residency (2022)
  • Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine – Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (2019)
  • The University of Michigan – B.S. of Biopsychology, Cognition, & Neuroscience (2014)

Dr. Moss is proficient in diagnostic evaluation and treatment of complex pathology including but not limited to cerebral vascular accidents (strokes), myocardial infarctions (heart attacks), sepsis, trauma, and obstetric emergencies. His expertise in procedures includes all those required of an emergency physician such as fracture reduction, endotracheal intubation, chest tube placement, thoracotomy, emergent vascular access, precipitous delivery, and more. Additionally, with his addiction medicine training, Dr. Moss treats patients suffering from sequelae of substance use disorders including acute intoxication, overdose, withdrawal, as well as reduction of use and maintenance of abstinence.

Dr. Moss sits on the In-service Training Exam Preparation Committee and the Clinical Competency Committee. He has helped bridge emergency department care with out-patient addiction medicine services, and has contributed to creating best-practice pathways for alcohol withdrawal care.

As a skilled physician and clinical educator, Dr. Moss takes great pride in helping people understand complex medical issues. He offers an objective, approachable, and methodical evaluation of the medical process to assist in legal cases.
